I am very pleased to see that the Environment Agency have successfully convicted 5 individuals and 3 companies of illegal waste crimes in a prosecution brought about by the Environment Agency.

I recently visited Thorp Precast Limited, one of our major manufacturing firms here in Newcastle, located on Apedale Road in Chesterton. Thorp Precast designs, manufactures and installs concrete cast panels for high-density new constructions, finished in brick or stone.

Thousands of working parents of two-year-olds are now able to access 15 hours a week of government-funded childcare.

Here’s how it works 

- From right now, working parents of 2-year-olds can get 15 hours a week of free childcare during term time.

It was great to visit Allendale Care Ltd Residential & Day Care in Wolstanton earlier today to see their amazing staff and facilities!

SCOUTS GANG SHOW

It was good to meet with the EA’s recently-appointed Executive Director of Operations, Sarah Chare, in Newcastle earlier today.

Sarah is now responsible for the EA’s front line operational activities (and is therefore Area Director Ian Jones’s boss).

Today from 9:30am till 12pm Staffordshire Police in partnership with the Borough Council are holding their Safe Space drop in session.

These are held at the Safe Space in Lancaster Buildings on the Ironmarket, on the 4th Thursday of each month - so today is the March session.

I recently had the opportunity to speak with the School Council at Hempstalls Primary School.
