Many local residents have raised with me their concerns over the number of potholes on local roads. I know how important it is that our streets are kept in good condition to ensure safety and comfort for road users. Not only have I been raising your problems with the county council, but I have taken your concerns directly to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
In the recent Budget, the Chancellor announced that Staffordshire will benefit from an additional £4.5 million this year to fix the potholes and repair crumbling roads. I will be fighting to ensure that a fair share of this extra Government investment is spent in Newcastle on our roads.
So, if you know of a pothole, you can report it to me and I will report the problem to Staffordshire County Council, requesting that repairs are carried out.
Alternatively you can use the County Council's reporting facility here.
