ON THE BUSES

Quite an exciting spot from a member of my team earlier today - my advert is now on several bus routes across Newcastle, promoting my upcoming Pensioners' Support Fair which is on Friday week (the 15th) from 10am.

The new Philip Astley Centre, located on Merrial Street, is officially opening this weekend!

I was delighted to be given a sneak preview a couple of weeks ago by project lead Andrew Van Buren.

CHANCELLOR'S BUDGET

Today, the Chancellor laid out his budget. I know that things have been tough over the past few years, and while there is still more we need to do, we have turned a corner in our plan to get our economy back on track.

It was great to be invited by Cllr Jill Whitmore to join her on her morning crossing patrol, next to Meadows Primary School in Madeley.

VISIT TO CRACKLEY BANK PRIMARY SCHOOL

Last Friday I had the pleasure of visiting Crackley Bank Primary School. I enjoyed visiting all the classes and observing the excellent behaviour of the pupils, which is led by the fantastic Headteacher, Ms Sara Stevenson.

BEST OUT OF TOWN SHOP - RUNNERS UP

Established in 1977, Stephen Miller has been providing hairdressing for almost 50 years.

Based in Morris Square in Wolstanton, the shop changed names during the competition vote after Stephen announced his retirement.

BEST TOWN CENTRE SHOP - RUNNERS UP

The two Martas who work at STUDIO EFFECT originally hail from Poland and enjoy working at the Queens Court shop at the end of Ryecroft.

They were surprised and delighted that their customers had nominated them for the recognition of their great hairdressing skills.
