On Monday I raised the issue of antisocial behaviour (ASB), which continues to blight the lives of residents in Newcastle-under-Lyme, in the House of Commons chamber.
I was glad that the Secretary of State for Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove, agreed with me that Staffordshire Police and the Staffordshire Commissioner have been taking stronger action to deter ASB.
Since implementing the new local policing model last June, they have been working in the right direction, with a 33% fall in incidents.
In this month alone, the police have secured a closure notice for a notorious property in Knutton, they have been working with Asda to stop boy racers in Wolstanton Retail Park, and a section 34 notice has been served in Chesterton.
Please let me know what your thoughts on ASB via my survey.
