CHRISTMAS CARD COMPETITION

Thank you to all the children from across Newcastle-under-Lyme who entered my Christmas Card competition, and to their teachers for their assistance. This competition has certainly shown off the creativity and brilliance of our young people.

Harrison, Year 5, from St. Margaret's C.E. Junior School won the competition. His design was printed on the front of the card. Miles, Year 5, from Alsagers Bank Primary Academy, Eliza, Year 2, from Wood Lane Primary School, Emily, Year 5, from St. Margaret's C.E. Junior School and Maverick, Year 6, from Hempstalls Primary School were the runners-up. Their designs are printed on the back of the card. I have reproduced the designs above.

I would like to send a huge congratulations to Harrison for winning the competition. Congratulations as well to the runners-up, Miles, Eliza, Emily and Maverick, who all produced fantastic image. I went round to the schools of each of the pupils to congratulate them and provide them with plenty of copies of the card to share with friends and family. Harrison won a 'Speaker Bear' - the teddy bear inspired by the Speaker of the House of Commons.

I was also delighted to present the card to the Prime Minister and will be sending it to colleagues across Westminster and Newcastle.

Thank you again to all the children who have participated, I am so glad that you all sent designs in. Well done again to Harrison and thank you to everyone who participated in my second annual Christmas card competition. I was thrilled with the response and look forward to continuing this new tradition next year!

Thank you too to Printed Gift House for printing the cards. They are based locally on Merrial Street, just a stone's throw away from my constituency office. The costs were covered by the local Conservative party, so there was no cost to the taxpayer.
