Delighted to visit Betley CE Primary School in Betley and St Luke's CE Primary School in Silverdale this morning to officially open their new “reading machines.” The initiative rewards the children for all of their hard work and allows them to earn tokens which may then be used to select a book from the machines. The machines stock a variety of genres for primary school students of all ages.
It was great to meet Nancy, Lucas and Violet at Betley Primary School and Ollie P, Macie and Ollie S at St Luke’s. I was extremely impressed by their thirst for reading and very much enjoyed hearing about their secondary school options. They were also interested in my work as their MP.
Well done to Violet and Ollie S on becoming the first children to earn tokens for the machines! Congratulations also go to Mrs Ray and all of her staff for their successful fundraising campaign!
