Following his comments on local radio last week, I arranged a meeting with the Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and his officials, to fill him in on the backstory behind Walley's Quarry and to explain our present crisis.
The PM agreed that action is clearly needed, and directed his officials to work further with Defra in order to (a) see what more can be done at present and (b) explore what elements of my 10 Minute Rule Bill the Department may be able to take forward.
I've also been speaking with all three Stoke MPs, as well as Bill Cash who represents Madeley and rural Newcastle. They are all fully behind my campaign on this issue, as the stink is now affecting their constituents too.
Thank you Boris!
