I recently visited the beautiful synagogue in Newcastle, which was constructed in 2006 just opposite the hospital on London Road, when the congregation moved from their original site in Hanley.
I was pleased to meet Martin Morris, President of the Stoke Community, Ed Horwich, Chair of the Jewish Small Communities Network, Sarah Radivan, Regional Manager of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Councillor Philip Jones, senior member Andrew Darn and other members of the community to discuss what they do. Thank you to Marc Levy, from The Jewish Leadership Council for helping arrange the visit.
The Jewish community in our area is small but has an illustrious history in North Staffordshire since 1873. If you would like to know more, and learn about what they are doing currently, have a look on their Facebook page Stoke on Trent Synagogue.
