It’s a privilege to be in Westminster Hall awaiting an address from President Zelensky to Parliament.
This is his first visit to the UK since Russia invaded his country last year, and his second international trip since the war began.
The trip comes after the Prime Minister announced that the UK would now begin to train Ukrainian fighter jet pilots and marines, as well as approximately 20,000 soldiers this year, on top of 10,000 that we trained last year.
It is essential not just for the Ukrainians, but also for our global security, that Putin is defeated and we will stand with the Ukrainians in making that happen.
