I was delighted to visit St Giles' & St George's C of E Academy ahead of the upcoming UK Parliament Week, which takes place 14-20th November.
UK Parliament Week is an annual event that educates people about what Parliament is, what it does, and people can get involved. Last year over 1.1 million people took part from every nation and region of the UK, and from countries all over the world.
I was grilled through a rigorous ‘Q&A’ session with Year 6 for nearly an hour on a variety of topics from Walley’s Quarry to world politics and almost everything in between!
I also had the opportunity to meet the animals at the school - the chocolate Labrador is Harriet and the black Cockapoo is Henry. They also keep chickens!
Thank you to everyone involved in organising the event, particularly Ms Snape, and to all the children for their enthusiasm!
