On Friday I was delighted to visit the new Kaleidoscope School at Porthill Lodge.
Kaleidoscope is a Special School for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children (4-11) with special educational and complex needs such as autism and ADHD.
They have 30 children and the school ensures that there are small class sizes tailored to look after them. They will reach full capacity in January and will have new staff joining them as well.
It was wonderful to see the care and provisions that their dedicated staff provide for them. I am pictured with Charlie, their specially trained anxiety dog that comforts the children.
Thank you to Amy Sadler-Rhodes, school manager, for inviting me, and to the Headteacher Samantha Goodin, for giving me a tour of the school and introducing me to some of their brilliant staff and pupils.
