Recently, I was delighted to visit the Broxap manufacturing facility in Chesterton.
Broxap is a family owned business, founded in 1946, with 230 employees on site. The business specialises in the design and manufacture of high specification street furniture, litter bins, shelters, playground equipment and outdoor fitness equipment, as well as offering a complete project management service.
I met with Head of Marketing Rachel Lee, who took me on a tour of the 125,000 sq ft facility, and was also able to have a chat with Chairman Robert Lees and Managing Director John Boyles about their current projects.
Broxap has made several major investments over the last three years, including a new Amada fibre laser cutting machine, automated powder coating and paint plant, robotic welding machines, and the timber production facility, which was relocated in 2020. Some of Broxap’s long serving members of staff were happy to give me demonstrations of the state-of-the-art equipment.
