As a member of the Procedure Committee it was great to visit Cardiff and the Welsh Parliament (or the Senedd Cymru in Welsh) yesterday as part of the Committee’s ongoing inquiry into the way in which the other Parliaments in the UK work with Westminster.
We discussed inter-parliamentary relations and the legislative process with
the Llywydd (or the Speaker) of the Senedd, Elin Jones MS (centre of second photo in the pink) and the Senedd's Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee.
Thank you to everyone we met on the day for the constructive conversations and the warm welcome.
I very much enjoy these informative committee trips. Having been to the Northern Ireland Assembly earlier this year, it has given me a real perspective of how our United Kingdom works together and well connected we are, even though each nation has its own identity and individual approaches.
