The Men’s Shed Association have set up themselves in Parliament this week, showcasing what they are doing up and down the country to do good in our communities, support improved mental health and to launch a new project with the Royal British Legion.
It was good to have a chat with Alan about the positive impact they are having on so many people’s lives. Men’s Sheds is a brilliant and growing initiative.
There’s over 1,000 Men’s Sheds across the UK now including in Stoke, all after only 10 years as a charity, and they are supporting over 30,000 people regularly. However, we’re yet to see a Men’s Shed open in Newcastle.
I would be delighted to hear from any local residents keen to get involved with growing the Men’s Shed network, and to put them in touch with the charity directly.
