I was delighted that Geoff Harriman, Chairman of the Tri Services and Veterans Support Centre. Registered charity 1159599 in Newcastle, was able to attend a Local Veteran Champions’ Reception in Number 10 Downing Street this week.
The event was hosted by the Veterans' Affairs Minister, Johnny Mercer, and was a celebration of all the work done by local veterans to support individuals and families in the transition from service to civilian life.
Geoff and his team at the centre do wonderful work in the community, and provide support to current and former service-people across Newcastle and Stoke-on-Trent. They have recently opened a Bushcraft centre and Retreat in Mow Cop, which will be the next stage of Operation R & R, their programme to offer veterans, their families and the community a peaceful space.
