It was deeply moving to visit The National Covid Memorial Wall which is across the Thames, directly opposite the Houses of Parliament.
The wall commemorates those who have died after contracting the virus. Along it, red hearts represent those who have lost their lives, with some containing personal tributes.
A constituent whom I spoke with last week asked me to visit the wall as her father had died from Covid earlier this year. I paid my respects to him, and to all the other residents of Newcastle and across the UK who have been taken too soon by this terrible virus. May they rest in peace.
