It was a privilege to represent the people of Newcastle-under-Lyme as their Member of Parliament earlier this afternoon.
His Majesty King Charles III visited Parliament in an act of thanksgiving and remembrance in honour of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
During the visit I was honoured to be invited to attend an unveiling of the ‘Lying-in-State Plaque’ in Westminster Hall which marked the Lying-in-State of Her Late Majesty from 14th September until Her funeral on 19th September.
Following this, the King unveiled a gift from Parliament to the Late Queen, which marked the occasion of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. I was more than happy to personally contribute towards this. Sadly she was unable to accept this herself during the summer, but they are a very fitting tribute here in Westminster.
GOD SAVE THE KING
