I’m just out of a fantastic presentation evening at The Jill Clewes Academy For Theatre Arts where the Academy was honoured with the King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
This award was instituted by the late Queen in her Golden Jubilee year of 2002 and is the most prestigious award for voluntary organisations - and in this case it really is richly deserved.
The award was presented by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Ian Dudson CBE.
We were also treated to a wonderful 45-minute showcase by both current and former students who all demonstrated not only the talent that the Academy encourages, but also the stories of friendship and finding oneself that so many graduates have experienced.
It’s been a red-letter week for Jill personally too, as she collected her MBE (pictured pinned to her dress!) at Windsor Castle on Tuesday!
Congratulations again - we are very lucky to have the Academy here in
