I am aware, via these photographs being shared on social media, that HGVs waiting to go into the landfill before 7am are once again causing a traffic hazard.
Everyone has already suffered too much because of the operations at Walley’s Quarry. Now, once again, the people of Newcastle are paying the price for the operator’s inability to run their facility in a considerate manner.
I have, therefore, written to the Leader of Staffordshire County Council, Councillor Alan White, to ask for the Council's urgent review of the matter as well as asking them to work with Staffordshire Police to eliminate this problem.
UPDATE
Many thanks to Councillor Alan White for his rapid response to my letter yesterday and the urgent action they have taken. I will keep you all updated.
