Last week, in light of the BBC Panorama programme, I asked the Environment Minister for an update on what is being done to bring justice and accountability to the suffering constituents continue to endure at the hands of Walley's Quarry, as well as highlighting the issues at Staffordshire Waste, in which I am supporting Jonathan Gullis MP.
I urge the Environment Agency to conclude their criminal and regulatory investigations on Walley's Quarry as quickly as possible so that justice can prevail.
I know some people are sceptical about these investigations but I am personally reassured that they are serious and well-resourced, and are aiming to build the strongest possible case against any company or anyone responsible.
I am as frustrated as the community by how long they are taking but they are the surest legal route to accountability and appropriate punishment.
