I recently had the opportunity to speak with Edenhurst Prep School's Year 6, followed by taking assembly in front of the whole school.
During the year 6 discussion session, the pupils were eager to learn about my role as a Member of Parliament, the electoral process that led to my position, and why I decided to become an MP.
They showed genuine interest in understanding a typical day in my life, particularly highlighting the busy nature of my Fridays spent in the constituency.
During the assembly we split the pupils into two groups and asked them to make arguments for or against the idea of reducing the voting age - which led to a really good debate with contributions from every year group!
I would like to thank Mrs Mousley for the invitation and for organising such an engaging session with thought-provoking questions from the children.
