It was great to be at the launch of the Disability Action Plan on Tuesday in Central London, having worked with the Minister for Disabled People, Mims Davies MP, to finalise the document. I was also delighted to see Ben Sutcliffe from the fantastic local charity Caudwell Children at the launch.
Following consultation with Caudwell Children and many other organisations and disabled people, the Disability Action Plan outlines 30 ambitious targets to be completed within the next year.
We know that disabled people face barriers across many areas of their lives. It is therefore vital that we continue to take concerted action across the government to improve disabled people’s lives and ensure disabled people can participate fully in society.
This Disability Action Plan will complement this work, delivering real improvements to disabled people’s everyday lives. It sets out 32 practical actions the Government will take over the next 12 months - you can read these in full here: https://www.gov.uk/.../disability.../disability-action-plan
