At Health Questions today, Minister Will Quince MP joined me in praising the new facilities that have opened at County Hospital, Stafford. These consist of a new modular theatre for specialised hand surgery, and also a new Staffordshire Treatment Suite at County Hospital, providing theatre space and recovery bays for patients who only require day care.
These have been Government-funded as part of NHS England and Improvement’s Elective Recovery Plan which will allow more patients to be operated on each month.
Cutting NHS backlogs that built up over Covid is one of Rishi Sunak's five promises, alongside halving inflation, restoring economic growth, cutting the debt and stopping the boats. I am pleased to see this Government investment delivering on our promise.
