Today, I had the privilege of reconnecting with my constituent David Hughes from Bignall End, here in Westminster! He's been tirelessly dedicated to Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) since the heart-breaking loss of his son Daniel to an undiagnosed heart condition in March 2015.
CRY, a national charity, focuses on preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening, research, and support for affected families.
David's unwavering commitment was rightfully honored when he and his wife, Sue, received the Pride of Birmingham Award in 2019. Their ongoing dedication serves as a true testament to the resilience and compassion of individuals from Newcastle, and their work deserves continued recognition.
