Today at Prime Minister's Questions, I was delighted both to celebrate the NHS's 75th birthday, pay tribute to everyone working in the NHS, and to raise the possibility of a new dental school here in Newcastle, at Keele University, which is already home to one of the country's best medical schools.
The Government's NHS Long Term Workforce Plan will expand dentistry training places by 40% so that there are over 1,100 places by 2031/32. I will be campaigning to deliver that increase via new dental schools.
