On Wednesday I met with Avanti West Coast’s new Managing Director, Andy Mellors.
Although Avanti West Coast has made significant improvements to its services, including running 40% more trains, cancellations falling to 4.2% and recruiting 80 new drivers, more needs to be done to offer customers the quality service they expect. This is an issue I have previously raised in Parliament (https://fb.watch/kMmEcljYwF/).
Andy and I discussed his plans to achieve this. The train operator is committed to further improvements including offering customers more reliable weekend services, continued reductions in cancellations and greater ticket availability.
I obviously use the service myself to get to and from London and it does seem to have been quite a bit better recently. However I would be interested to hear constituents’ views, either in the comments or by email to aaron.bell.mp@parliament.uk
