The Government has set out our five promises - halving inflation, growing the economy, reducing debt, cutting NHS waiting lists, and stopping the boats.
Delivering on these will give people peace of mind today and provide the foundation for our plans to build a better future for our children and grandchildren.
One of our promises is to cut the NHS backlog so people will get the care they need more quickly - and a huge part of that is bolstering our primary care services.
It is therefore very encouraging news that in Newcastle-under-Lyme, the number of doctors, nurses and other clinical staff in GP facilities has increased by 46% since September 2019 - that's an additional 55 full-time posts.
This is all part of the Government’s Plan for Patients, which sets out our commitment to improve GP services and make healthcare accessible to all.
