LAWFARE

Last week the Justice Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister, Dominic Raab, set out the Government's proposals to tackle strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPPs), often known as "lawfare".

UKRAINIAN REFUGEES UPDATE

The Home Secretary gave an update today on what more the UK will do to support Ukrainian refugees.

The Ukraine Family Scheme, which was announced on Tuesday, will be changed in order to make it quicker and simpler.

MORE MILITARY SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE

The UK had already supplied Ukraine with military support before Putin illegally invaded their country. For a number of years our military has trained the Ukrainian army through Operation ORBITAL.

RUSSIAN SANCTIONS

I commend our Government who have played a leading role in support of Ukraine over these past months in response to Putin's illegal invasion of Ukraine.

ECONOMIC CRIME BILL

The Home Secretary today brought forward the Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Bill. The Bill is expected to be proceed through Commons by the end of today, which is quite rare for legislation but shows the Government's urgency to counter illicit financial activity from Russia.

UKRAINIAN AMBASSADOR VISITS PARLIAMENT

The Speaker of the Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, welcomed the Ukrainian ambassador, Vadym Prystaiko, to the House of Commons before Prime Minister's Questions today.

UKRAINE UPDATE

Yesterday, the Home Secretary, Priti Patel MP, set out a new route open to provide sanctuary to Ukrainian refugees. However, I, and my co-signatories from yesterday’s letter, pressed the Government to do more as, in our judgement, the official position yesterday did not go far enough.
