Well done to Elliott Lancaster who finished in the top ten of the Global Student Prize. Unfortunately, he was pipped to the top spot by Jeremiah Thoronka from Sierra Leone.
I am so happy that Elliott has been recognised as such an exceptional student. He is such a brilliant representation of perseverance and a true star of Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Even though he did not win the prize money, I am sure he will continue to make a real impact on learning, the lives of his peers and on society beyond.
The Education Secretary, Nadhim Zahawi, the Minister for Mental Health, Gillian Keegan, and I are all very proud of you.
