On Friday morning I had an excellent visit to Sun Academy Bradwell where I was shown round the school by Principal Mrs Niemczyk, Assistant Principal Mr MacDonald and Head of Governors Miss Finney.
I toured all the classrooms, from Early Years through to Year 6, and saw excellent teaching going on throughout the Academy as well as being asked some great questions from pupils. I also met the fabulous team of dinner ladies who told me that Friday was the most popular day for school lunches - fish and chips!
However the real grilling was saved for my session with the School Council & Ambassadors, who had put together an extremely thoughtful list of questions for me about my work as an MP and their priorities for Newcastle.
I was really impressed so thank you very much to Mrs Niemczyk and her team, not just for the visit but for all their hard work throughout Covid in making sure learning could continue.
