Thank you to all those who put forward their favourite independent restaurant for the Uber Eats inaugural Restaurant of the Year awards.
As I said, I was invited to nominate a restaurant in Newcastle-under-Lyme for these awards, so I thought it would be appropriate for constituents to put forward their favourite and then nominate the top pick.

Congratulations for the well deserved nomination, Mariana and Costas Anastasiou. Since the bakery opened, my office staff and I have become regular visitors. I am very happy to be putting them forward.
Anasma Greek Bakery are now in with a chance to win £100,000. Uber Eats will let me know if they make the national final. Regional winners will be invited to the awards ceremony in central London where celebrity restaurateur Dame Prue Leith will announce the winner.
