Newcastle-under-Lyme Police has charged a man with two counts of affray and possession of an offensive weapon for two recent town centre incidents. A request was made for him to be remanded in custody.
When I met with our new Newcastle-under-Lyme Police Borough Commander, Ch Insp John Owen, on a “walk and talk” around the town centre last month, we spoke about making it a force priority to tackle dangerous and anti-social behaviour within the town centre and across our Borough.
I am glad that Ch Insp Owen and his team are cracking down on this to keep our town safe. Thank you to them all for their continuing efforts.
As ever, if you have a specific case that you need following up, please email me on aaron.bell.mp@parliament.uk and I will make enquiries on your behalf.
