On Tuesday, the Independent Expert Panel released their full report on the conduct of the former Speaker John Bercow.
In what makes for shocking reading, the Panel say that "his behaviour fell very far below that which the public has a right to expect" from an MP. The evidence showed that he was a "serial bully" and a "serial liar".
The IEP said Mr Bercow had displayed "threatening conduct" towards staff, including verbal abuse, and displays of anger. He had "shouted at and mimicked" staff and was responsible for "intimidating, insulting behaviour involving an abuse of power". 21 separate allegations of bullying were proved and have been upheld.
The findings should bring great shame to the former Speaker but also to a number of MPs, who turned a blind eye as it suited them politically, in his attempt to halt Brexit, to do so.
I am hopeful that there is a fuller debate on the matter, and that of bullying in the workplace, in Parliament soon.
