Newcastle Baptist Church has hosted a public election debate on behalf of the local churches, where all five candidates vying for the Newcastle-under-Lyme constituency have faced questions from members of the public.
Topics we debated included health and care services, homelessness and support for older people.
The BBC may have been broadcasting the debate between party leaders, but the real entertainment tonight was at Newcastle Baptist Church. The debate tonight was very civilised and good-natured, and I hope that local people have gained a good idea about what all of the candidates competing in Newcastle stand for.
A big thank you is owed to all the local churches that helped put this event together.
