I was delighted to be elected to the Science & Technology Select Committee today.
This Committee exists "to ensure that Government policy and decision-making are based on good scientific and engineering advice and evidence."
This means the Select Committee has a broad remit and can examine the activities of departments where they have implications for, or have made use of, science, engineering, technology and research.
As a former coder and software architect, I have long thought that there are not enough MPs in Parliament with a background in technology. Therefore I look forward to contributing my experience to its work, and to supporting its new Chair, Greg Clark MP.
